Netflix UK expanded its catalogue on 23 July with the addition of The Debt Collector, a Thai crime thriller that follows an ex-debt collector confronting his past mistakes and a terminal diagnosis.
The film stars Nadech Kugimiya and is directed by Surapong Ploensang. Its protagonist returns to the criminal underworld to shield victims from a violent organisation, blending tension with a focus on individual resilience.
The Debt Collector arrives shortly after its theatrical release in Thailand, offering viewers a character-driven story that prioritises themes of justice and personal accountability over broader ideological messaging.
The same day also saw the release of Ransom Canyon season 2, a romantic Western drama starring Josh Duhamel as Staten and Minka Kelly as Quinn. The characters pursue ambitious ventures aimed at restoring hope and prosperity to their small Texas town while navigating their deepening feelings for one another.
This second season builds on the series' foundation in Jodi Thomas's book series, depicting life, romance, family rivalries and land disputes in a tight-knit community.
