A relationship that stuck
They started dating back in September 2023 and got engaged in June 2024. Gabbriette, who is the lead vocalist in Nasty Cherry as well as a model, once posted on Instagram that marrying The 1975 was 'very brat'. Her future mother-in-law, Denise Welch, could not have been more delighted. 'I couldn’t be more thrilled. We couldn’t be happier — she is everything I would want in a daughter-in-law,' the actress said on Loose Women.
There's something refreshing about it all. In a world where celebrity relationships often seem to come with an expiry date, these two have quietly built something real. From that first spark three years ago to standing up in front of their closest friends and choosing commitment. No fanfare about redefining love or keeping options open. Just two people deciding to make a go of it properly.
The guest list was suitably cool but tight. Charli XCX turned up with her husband George Daniel, alongside Anastasia Karanikolaou, Fai Khadra, Alex Consani, Devon Lee Carlson and Duke Nicholson, Sydney Lynn Carlson, Tyrell Hampton, Alex O’Connor and Quenlin Blackwell. The kind of crowd that suggests this was about the people who matter rather than maximising the guest list for column inches.
